CRANEDANCE
Movie Premiere Event

A special premiere screening of CRANEDANCE was held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, with proceeds to benefit the International Crane Foundation, at Pontiac's Little Art Theater

The charming historic theater was packed with over 100 people in attendance, including some who appear in the film!

Attendees enjoyed special "Cranedance" cocktails, an introduction by M. Hunt, and an informative Q&A afterglow.  It was a fantastic evening!

 

 

About the film:

In this film you will get an extraordinary glimpse into the fascinating inner lives of Sandhill Cranes, noticeable for their tall height, unique loud calls, and prehistoric appearance. Join Mindy as she observes the intriguing behaviors of the cranes that frequent a lake in Oxford, Michigan and then goes on a journey of discovery about the intersection of this species and us humans.

About the film maker:

Mindy is an amateur filmmaker who has had multiple award-winning short films in the OrionTV Wildwood Film Festival, and featured in the NXMW (North by Midwest Micro-budget film festival) in Kalamazoo and the Short Sweet Film Festival in Cleveland.

 

CRANEDANCE is Mindy's first feature-length documentary. She started it as a capstone project for the MSU Extension Conservation Stewards Program and continued on to produce this theater-quality film. 

 

Mindy lives in Oxford, Michigan with her husband Larry, and the Sandhill Cranes that hang out behind their house.
